There's a reason why Super Bowl Sunday is the biggest day of the year for American advertisers, who pay ridiculous amounts of money for a 30 spot during the broadcast.
Last year's game had a record-setting average of 111 million viewers. That's a lot of eyeballs.
Reason #4 - Super Bowl WEEK
So much intrigue develops during the 6 days leading up to the event, known as the Super Bowl Media Week. I love all the stories that come out in the press, and all the controversial comments and thrash talk that plays out.
During the week, you might even get a boneheaded arrest or even worse, a mysterious player disappearance.
Sadly though, some far more serious incidents have taken place during festivities leading up to the game: Baltimore Ravens Linebacker Ray Lewis and two other men were arrested on murder and aggravated assault charges in connection with the death of two men at a Super Bowl XXXIV party (Lewis was acquitted of the murder charges, but found guilty of obstructing justice).

Some of the acts have been terrible, (Black Eyed Peas last year....are you kidding me??) but the Super Bowl Halftime Show is always talked about afterwards .... good or bad. You all remember Nipplegate, don't you?
Plus this year, what better way to sell your girl on the event than by telling her that Madonna's doing a concert right in the middle of it!
And finally........

According to a report in Forbes Magazine last year, the NFL's 32 teams generated a total of $8.3 billion in revenue [in 2010], which is a 4% gain from the previous year; so of course the championship game is going to garner a huge worldwide audience!
