College Hoops Or Pro Football: Which Has Brought The Most "March Madness?"

College basketball usually takes the cake when it comes to bringing "Madness" to the month of March. But this year, the NFL has given Hoops a run for its money, with an unprecedented flurry of off-season activity this month.

The Madness of March Begins

March is probably my favourite month of the year.

My #1 reason?  NCAA March Madness!

The 2012 edition of the Men's national collegiate basketball tournament is about to kick off.  The 64 team playoff will start today just after 12:00 EST, and will conclude with the Final Four showdown in New Orleans on March 31.

You can always count on Nike to keep their brand strong in the middle of an NBA lock out. This promotional video features a who's who of players in the game(s): J. Cole, Stoudamire, Lebron James, Durant, Nowitzki, ?uestlove and Coach Krzyzewski. 

But the real stars of the video are the kids and adults that are playing ball for the love of the game. No lock out. No bargaining. No revenue splits. Nothing but love for the game. Even though the NBA's season is in jeopardy, basketball never stops.

The 2011 NCAA Men's Basketball Championship Tournament, AKA "March Madness" is in full swing, with 3rd round action taking place all day Saturday and Sunday.

This is by far my favourite sports tournament.

You never know who's gonna beat who ... Upsets can happen at a moment's notice!
