The Smiths - "How Soon is Now?"
In honor of the Royal Wedding media blitz and comments from Morrissey, who straight up dissed the British Monarchy while questioning their purpose in the UK, P&B presents "How Soon is Now?". This is a classic 80s cut from The Smiths' 2nd release "Meat is Murder". Morrissey was an original member of the Smiths.

Redemption On the Coast: How the Vancouver Canucks Finally Got the Hawk Off Their Back

Hockey has been a nightly ritual in the Paqman household for the past few weeks. I've found pleasure in other team's joy and pain with the absence of my beloved Sens. None was more epic than last night's tilt between the Canucks and Blackhawks. It embodied everything that is so right about the NHL Playoffs: anticipation, frustration and elation.

Friday Flashback - All Foo-ked Up Edition
Foo Fighters - "I'll Stick Around"
In '95, to the world's surprise, Dave Grohl released an album that would launch him into the Pop Rock stratosphere. "I'll Stick Around" was the second single released from the self titled album and was a breath of fresh air after the demise of Nirvana.
You'll notice Pat Smear, who left and has since returned, as well as Drummer William Goldsmith, who was replaced by then Alanis Morisette drummer Taylor Hawkins, in the video. The most amazing part of this album is that Grohl played every single instrument including vocals. That's just simply awesome!
Check out the Foos new album, Wasting Light, when you have the chance.

This was the 4th single from their breakthrough 1989 album The Raw & The Cooked. Great use of the James Brown sample "Funky Drummer" as the backbeat. And if you look closely, you'll see a young Sean "Puff Daddy" Combs as one of the breakdancers (first shown around the 0:45 sec mark)

"Angles" by The Strokes: the P&B BBM Chat
We here at P&B love technology. We both use Blackberry Messenger like crazy, so why not show our deep conversations to the world! This is a first in the Blogosphere (we think). Here it is: The P&B BBM Chat.
Turnbull aka Tza: Yo Paq, I'm finally getting a chance to listen to this new Strokes rec...it's got that percussive guitar "jangle" we know and love from them doesn't' it? I thought the first single wasn't bad...nice & catchy. What do you think man?
Turnbull aka Tza: Such dynamic changes in some of the songwriting...3rd track "Two Kinds of Happiness" is pretty ambitious man....reminds me of The Cars at certain points.
Paqman: To start, I don't know much about the Stokes. I kinda dismissed them after hearing their first few singles off their major debut. I did see their performance on SNL which featured some new material and I thought they were cool. Sooo why not give the new release a try? They write catchy shit and I can hear tons of singles. "Under the Cover of Darkness" and "Taken for a Fool" stood out to me as cuts with charting potential.
