Mid-Season NBA MVP Report

We're just past the midway point of the 2010-11 NBA season. Let's take a moment and discuss who the Association's Best Player has been so far.

Derrick Rose is only in his third NBA season, but he's already justifying his #1 overall pick in the 2008 draft. He's done most of his damage this season without the help of Carlos Boozer and Joakim Noah, who have both missed significant games due to injury. Rose has lead the team to the 2nd best record in the Eastern Conference, and today helped his team complete a season sweep of the Heat with an 87-86 victory in Miami

Lebron James continues to put up MVP-type numbers with his new team in Miami. Although he punked himself out with that whole "Imma host a TV special just to tell everyone which team Imma sign with" bullshit last summer, he is having an outstanding season.

Kobe Bryant is getting older, and frankly, I think he's a bit bored at this stage of his career. But he's way too competitive not to put up ridiculous numbers in an effort to win MVP and grab a 6th championship ring with the Lakers. And dude proved at this year's All-Star game that he's always in it to win it!

Amar'e Stoudemire has been ripping it up for the new and improved New York Knicks this season. His numbers may take a slight dip now that Carmelo Anthony has arrived, but statistically he's having his best season since 2004-05 when he averaged 26 points/game with the Phoenix Suns. He's also having the best defensive season of his career with an average of 2.2 blocked shots per contest.

Got a player you think deserves MVP consideration? Let us hear about it!
