New Feist Album, Metals, Will Kill You Softly

(Photo via stereogum.com)
Our favorite axe wielding Canadian songstress dropped her new album this week. I'm not referring to Anne Murray (props for tearing up the golf course, Snowbird). I'm talking about the always incredible Leslie Feist. She returns with another great release that will enable her continued ascent to super stardom...without an iPod commercial.

Feist's new album, Metals, solidifies her place as an international songwriter. Her craft is evolving positively with every release. Her haunting vocals are ever present and compliment the beautiful music she wrote. Metals features fantastic arrangements complete with well placed vocal harmonies. She continues to keep her sound stripped down, bordering on permanent residency in Folky Town. The hooks are killer as expected and will have you coming back for a re-up. I expect you'll hear a few tracks from Metals on your fave CW show.

This is what I was expecting from the new Bon Iver, so thanks Leslie for filling that void for me. Moody, ethereal at times, and epically genuine. From multi layered masterpieces to acoustic pieces, you'll find a cut that will run deep.

P&B Approved Cuts:
- The Bad In Each Other
- Caught A Long Wind
- Anti-Pioneer
- Cicadas and Gulls

-Paqman
