Torche - Kicking

If you like fuzzy, sludged out rock, this is for you. Hailing from the Sunshine State, this four piece are considered by some to be metal, but I just don't see it on their new release "Harmonicraft". It's pop with a lot of messy guitars. Sweet.

Tens of thousands of albums have been released this past year, so P&B are taking on the arduous task of breaking down our very own Top 10 Albums of 2011 List. The Foo had one hell of a year. They reestablished themselves as the premiere stadium rock band with a massive sold out tour. If you haven't checked out the "Back and Forth" documentary which chronicles the band's history and the making of "Wasting Light", it's a must for any fan of the Foo Fighters and modern rock.

Canada's hottest export did not fail with his sophomore release. With longtime producer Noah "40" Shebib, Just Blaze and T-Minus, Drake proved that his star continues to rise as he delivers his trademark introspective lyrics over fantastically produced beats.

Friday Flashback - All Foo-ked Up Edition

Foo Fighters - "I'll Stick Around"

In '95, to the world's surprise, Dave Grohl released an album that would launch him into the Pop Rock stratosphere. "I'll Stick Around" was the second  single released from the self titled album and was a breath of fresh air after the demise of Nirvana.

You'll notice Pat Smear, who left and has since returned, as well as Drummer William Goldsmith, who was replaced by then Alanis Morisette drummer Taylor Hawkins, in the video. The most amazing part of this album is that Grohl played every single instrument including vocals. That's just simply awesome!

Record Store Day - Saturday April 16

This Saturday April 16th marks International Record Store Day.

Originally established in 2007 as a means of celebrating "the art of music," and to stimulate sales in the independent music retail sector, this event gets bigger and bigger each year.

It takes place annually on the 3rd Saturday in April.

Record stores around the world slash prices, host in-store performances, and offer tons of special, limited edition merchandise.

A growing list of popular bands will release material in conjunction with the event, including Radiohead, Foo Fighters, Regina Spektor, Gorillaz, and many, MANY more.

This Saturday, get out to your local record store and support the cause!
