Happy 1st Birthday, Paqman&Bull!

Turnbull & Paqman (Photo via us)
Well, it’s a bit of a belated birthday but here we are 1 year later and (hopefully) wiser. 276 posts, over 30,000 pageviews and hundreds of hours spent writing have come to pass. We feel that we're still refining our style to ensure we deliver the best product on the web while focusing on our mission: to be your source for insight on music, sport, and culture.

Our first step on this adventure was taken on February 27, 2011 and we would like to thank a few peeps that helped us along on our path (in no particular order):

Salvo, your guidance and advice has been indispensable. Sir, you are an Apple in a field of BlackBerrys.

Ramon and Kozar, thanks for engaging conversation on our posts since the jump off.

To the women in our lives (Fabs and Kel), your patience is world class and thanks for understanding the time commitment needed to keep P&B relevant (i.e. letting us do this!).

And most importantly, we'd like to thank YOU...the fans of our work, for sticking with us and supporting this initiative!  Without the support of the P&B Community, who are we but nothing?  Mad props to all y'all.

Going into this adventure, we didn't realise the level of commitment needed to bring this to the masses. In our continuing attempt to be transparent in our business dealings (yes, we will be running for office in Toronto. Be afraid, Rob Ford....Be very afraid), we haven't turned a dime on P&B.

But that's not the point. We, like many other creative providers, spend our own cash to keep this running. It's not a huge investment. It's a great pleasure. The only real investment is time and we have some to give away for you. It came down to writing on the blog or succumbing to peer pressure and doing drugs with those pesky kids in the dark alleys of Canada's multicultural metropolis. We chose to keep it real and deliver that realness via our posts.

Celebrations always lead to retrospection, which is what we are about to do.

We can't stop thanking you for spending your time on P&B and reading our work. We love what we do as we continue to deliver content that matters to us (and by extension to you). This quote from David Frost nicely sums up the P&B mantra: "Don’t aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally."
